battery light

Hi my battery light on dash has appeared today Rolling Eyes , anyone any ideas , is it likely alternator problem ?

Normally alternator fault.

Don't drive too far before getting the charge rate checked out as if not charging , you will run out of electrics/battery power.

If you have got an amp clamp or multimeter , put it on the battery and check the output with and without a load on it Thumbs Up

If it's charging it may just be a case of the alternator isn't sending a voltage back to turn off the IND Battery lamp.

Be careful... My battery light came on and within 4 miles there was a puff of smoke and the alternator completly seized up. Car was off road for a week or more whilst waiting for replacement alternator. Check it out right away. As you slide down the banister of life
may no splinters point your way

hi, just to update new alternator and battery req and fitted and all seems ok fingers crossed Rolling Eyes
