My Beloved is due his first service... |
|
My gorgeous Disco is due his first service in December. I was wondering if there are any deals to be had out there. I live near Milton Keynes, so the one beginning with S and ending with E is my nearest dealer. Is it worthwhile shopping around for service or are all the dealers charging the same?
I don't mind where I drive to (I love driving him so much) or even how much diesel I use, I just don't like the thought of being overcharged when there are deals to be had elsewhere...!! If you never try, you'll never know...

Bit of a journey i know, but i have just paid £240 inc VAT at Hunters in Bristol. Maybe worth using that as a lever against your dealer? I know from previous posts on here that Yeovil LR & M J Fews also quote a similar figure.
You don't need to pay over £300 so make them price match

The Stratstone dealer in Edinburgh will do a "price match" on servicing costs, so I would imagine all Stratstones will do the same.

Stratstones near me 'price matched' on my TD5s. However, on closer inspection it turned out afterwards that they'd not price matched, and simply done fewer of the items on the schedule, and actually done little more than an oil change.

surely a case for your local trading standards officer then. If you contracted them to do a service as per Landrovers service schedule, then they are legally bound to do all the work required, if not they are in breach of contract.

...yes... went there... threatened it. They had it back in and did it. Hope no others had succumbed to this.
Thanks,
John

No, I don't think it was the gender thing that was causing the problem. I suspect it was trying to find a link between loving your car and giving it to Stratstones, usually mutually exclusive activities. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Oh I see... Well, I don't trust anybody but myself with him! I'm very protective, so no offence if anybody works for STRATSTONES , rearranged , NEST O' RATTS , I don't want anybody tinkering!
No, I'm not mad, at least last time I checked I wasn't!! If you never try, you'll never know...
