i asked the same question : http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic76113.h...p;start=15

and bought one of these : http://www.thule.com/en/GB/Products/Bike-C...n=webgains

if you look on the Thule site there are carriers that fit the caravan A-frame Thumbs Up

there is nothing secure.lockable I could find that can hold the bikes and tow the caravan using the swan neck tow bar

Dave, are you going to the reunion for the Rally peeps at the convoy at Easter? I can show you my maxxrax in action albeit in fixed towbar guise - they do a slightly different version for the detachable towbar but it is the same from the towbar up.

Why not put some of the thule upright things on your rack?

EDIT: you have a dog guard, kids and 3 beasts - maxxrax no good for you as I consider getting in the tailgate a faff so take my only dog into the boot through the rear seats when the van is on
 Captain Nick Medhurst would ask:
"What is the first rule when overlanding?"

I would Reply:
"Duratrac"
