So I'm out for a nice ride on the motorbike going North along the A444. Road is dry weather good etc.
Overtook two slower moving vehicles and returned to my side of the road (just about where the white and black cabrio is on the map. Ford Focus man is in front of me, I stay behind him as although I can see a safe distance and could get past without crossing the solid white line - I decide to wait. He's doing about 40 in a 50 . . .
We get to the layby on the opposite side of the road, and without a thought he stabs on the brakes and swerves into said layby.
Ok I was close behind him at this point locked the front under braking and in a Moto GP stylee, did some serious bike aerobics. Managed to plant my back in the saddle and continue.
So the reason for my rant, not that I was too close, not that the nice man in the Ford made a poor decision - no all of this happened on the A444 where there were no less than three speed camera vans over the weekend - but not a single policeman to spot poor driving and advise against said poor decisions
Anyone know how to get the smell of out of bike leathers "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

count to 10 christian and then move on - despite doing a passable Mr Angry impression every day on this site since I've been driving D3's I've calmed down quite a bit on the road - t'aint worth it.
besides - bikers wind car drivers up with their weaving in and out and their impatience and need to pass, just because they can Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I've sold my Blade. It was only a matter of time befoe I killed myself, or more to the point, got wiped out by some Sunday driver.
I'm sad I sold but hey, glad I'm still in one piece after 30 plus years of biking.
It's just not fun in the roads anymore.Welcome "Lola"

Trouble is 90 BHP, IF there was a plod watching, how confident do you feel that the car driver would be repremanded over his thoughtless and potentially deadly manouvre rather than you for the evil kneivel impression.

And thats the point BCC - bikes are inherently unsafe because they can't be seen easily enough - and bikers get wiped out mostly because of other people
I find it interesting in these enlightened times of H&S madness and making cars more and more soft and round and squishy that peopke can still go out on the roads on something which "from a rider protection perspective" is nothing more than a 100+mph bicycle Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
