Playing with a timelapse

I put the Gopro on the tintent for a journey from Stockport to Brighton last week. I set it to take a still every 2 seconds. 5mp wide was the camera setting.

Unfortunately the weather was wet, and the battery ran out at M6 Toll services, but I have found a decent timelapse making program, called Time-Lapse tool which seems to be very easy and quick.

Here is my first shot at it.

That offers a great view Thumbs Up . I almost bought one of the 360 cams to sit in the roof gutter but even on 4k cams its not quite there yet.

The software I just did that on has a 360 option in it. So I suppose with the 360 camera it would even better!

The problem with current 360 tech is that they have to stretch the image .....even at 4k in almost every case it looks sub HD

It gives a great perspective, just a pity about all the rain Thumbs Up

I'm pretty sure you can do good timelapses in the free Gopro software.

I think this worked pretty well considering I just randomly picked 2 second interval. Next time I'll go to a 1 second on slower speed roads, and keep the 2 second interval at motorway speeds.

The good thing about the GoPro is that I can change settings in the app and control it remotely from my phone. (when not driving of course).

Battery is an issue, and it would need an external power supply for an extended time lapse. Weather was just bad luck.

The problem with the free GP software is it is terribly slow to upload pictures, and as far as I know does not do any timelapse edits?

I do stand to be corrected, but with all the recent updates they have applied, all I've heard is bad news.

Did my first ever time lapse a few weeks back too. It was of the Bush pigs at the Bushpig stand at the Oveland show, where I was a guest.

IIRC it was every 20 seconds over a good few hours.

I used a Nikon DSLR on a tripod. As to software, I used adobe lightroom and aftereffects.

Hoping to do another one at the October camp Thumbs Up

I would like to do this with my trail camera, but can these timelapses be slowed down as they do my head in flashing (mentally) Shocked Shocked Shocked

It's the same as driving along past hedges with a low sun Rolling Eyes
