Blank satnav / info display

Hi all,

Just finished work and got into the car to find the lcd display is black.

The map and info buttons below the display light up, and if I press on the touchscreen it beeps at me, but the display is completely black.

Tried to power cycle the ignition, but too late at night for serious troubleshooting.

N3ver had a problem with it before.

Any ideas?

Kind regards

Andy

Finally plucked up the motivation / courage to take a look, and the display is back on!

Plugged my IID into the car but nothing shows as a fault.

Is there some switch or button that turns that turns the display off that I’ve somehow missed?

Then very confused.

Under what circumstances would the touchscreen display not switch on?

Don’t even know where to start looking at this ......

I've had this once, next time I switched on it was fine again and so far it hasn't reoccurred. It is odd though.

If it happens a lot you probably need a replacement display.

Shine a torch at it. If you can make out a picture the backlight isnt lit

Well, it’s happened once but as it’s out of nowhere I’m pretty sure will happen again.

Perplexing aas this system has been faultless.

So, Censored .

Had a quick look at parts etc

Touch screen is currently part LR012984

And, WOW!

Most places seem to sell for about £1400 plus a deposit of £300 against return of old unit for refurb!

If this becomes a regular feature, might be worth thinking alternative options unless anyone knows a fix.
