I have deleted my post as conjecture from others suggests I may be wrong.Have a nice day!

One of mine has been failed for months (can't remember which one) but the mpg remains the same - about 30mpg at the moment. I don't think the EMS will alter the fueling (or other parameter to affect MPG) as a result of a detected EGRV fault.Previously:

Good point, if more fuel is going in surely you would just go faster??? Isn't that what diesels do? Maybe there is another cause for the poor mpg???Cheers
I've blamed poor MPG on lots of things, but usually it's tyre pressures Previously:

More fuel in a diesel does not necessarily equate to more power/speed. Overfuelling can have to opposite effect in my experience.
Nearly all other factors (tyres, brakes, air flow etc etc) have been eliminated as the cause.
BTW simonsi, I'm not interested in maybes and ??? Only interested in facts.

Bit difficult to offer facts from 10,000miles. Suggestions only from that range. Obviously if you've eliminated everything else then it must be fuelling. I would still expect that as the engine with blanked EGRs should be getting more clean air than the EMS would expect, overfuelling isn't likely.Cheers
I very much doubt your reduced MPG is anything to do with the (blanked) EGR fault, but as you're only interested in facts, I'll keep my thoughts to myself. Just letting you know my own findings with similar faults.
edited to add 'blanked'Previously:

To clarify, I don't consider it a fault caused by blanking, but something blanking may not eliminate.
It must just be a conincidence then that the lower mpg and the EGRV C faults occurred at the same time.
I've been through everything I can think of with respect to the mpg. Maybe the TDV6 isn't as good a motor as I thought it was.Have a nice day!

One of mine just failed at 76k on a 2004 car. Blanked them both off. Much smoother in acceleration with alot less black smoke which leads me to think the failed valve had not been right since I bought the car. Mpg crept up a bit from late 22 to late 25 as well since blanks were fitted.

You provide nothing constructive!
Sorry you took it that way but you only provided one conjecture - that your mpg loss was specifically down to the EGR failure, you didn't mention at that stage that you had looked at ANYTHING else, so what do you expect other than some discussion around whether your conclusion is likely to be right or not? How the heck can anyone on an internet forum provide "facts" specific to your case without either taking your points and replying to them or seeing the car for themselves? Cheers
