BLANKING OFF ERG VALVES

Hi Guys

Just bought a 2005 discovery, 1 week on and suspension warning lights are on ! not to worried
yet as being repaired ( hopefully ) under warranty. My first question is can I and should I
blank the erg valves on the car ? By the way it's an automatic.

Yes you can blank them if they haven't already been done, plenty of info if you do a search. Please fill your profile in first though it's a big help when asking for help. Thumbs Up

ERG VALVE

Hi

Have just read a post that says I may need a re-map or patch once ERG valves have been blanked ?

Hi.

I’ve just bought the exact same model year as you a week ago.

Can I be a bit cheeky and ask what the issue with the suspension is and if this is a second hand car extended warranty or is this something you persuaded landrover to fix? If so, how?

Oh, and my 2.7 diesel has its EGR ports blanked btw.

Hi Andy

Bought car from a dealer, second day of ownership and warning lights come on saying suspension lowered ! Called dealer who has book it in for diagnostic check, when the codes are read he will
have the car repaired by a landrover specialist in Edinburgh.

Thanks for that.

I bought mine privately thinking used car warranties were not worth the paper, etc.

Beginning to question a lot of my preconceptions, and I'm only a week into being a Land Rover owner.

That said, for all the issues and problems I've noticed so far, took her out to a green lane today, into 'Mud and Ruts', suspension to 'off road', HDC kicked in automatically - and did THAT come as a shock halfway down the track - a lot of the lane flooded out.

And she just breezed through it. Not a problem.

Re the HDC .... came over an old railway bridge (on a green lane! I know, right!) and took my foot of the accelerator once I got over the top of it expecting the car to roll down the other side.

Moment I took my foot off the pedal, the ABS kicked in and car ground to a crawl! Didn't know what the hell was going on until those pages in the handbook came slowly back to me.

So, HDC works Smile

But it was great. She did just fine and has me looking forward to the future; for the moment at least until the first garage bill.

OBIKNOBI, with forthcoming changes to the MOT....

If you blank your EGR's, keep the pipes in place.

...as it may fail the visual inspection if pipes are removed....

Thumbs Up

If you don’t already know, you control the speed of the HDC using the cruise control buttons.
