Does it just start smoking in the traffic or when you get going again?

Thanks guys, it smokes a little in traffic but a hell of a lot when you accelerate. But definitely only when been idling.
Otherwise running superb but I have noticed recently a drop in fuel consumption.

Don’t you mean a rise in fuel consumption?
Injectors can be checked with an iid tool, but not the spray pattern.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

At low revs oil can build up in the turbo if it's drain isn't clear. after it's built up to a point oil can transfer from the shaft into the exhaust and intake manifold. Then when you put your foot down the transferred oil burns either in the exhaust or by going back through the combustion chamber. Either way, blue smoke.

Does it end after a short while?
Do you change oil & filter regularly?
Is your oil level OK. high/low?

If it's mechanical i.e. valves or rings the smoke would be quite constant If its only happening now and then or after low revs for a while chances are it's oil transfer.

Could be both of course Sad

There's a mod for the TDv6 and SDV6, I'm not sure if this apply's to the early 3's i.e. the 2.7D

When driving normally you will burn off oil quicker so it wouldn't notice as much so you have a bit of checking to do I'm afraid.

Yes rise... sorry

No oil being used in 12000 miles, not had to top up once.
No sign of smoke under normal driving even towing 1700kg of tin tent.

Did only notice this recently ,if I let it idle for ten minutes on drive off really bad for say 1/4 of a mile until burnt off. On stop start it's noticeable but not as bad.

I have managed to get codes read and says problem with cylinder 1 and 5 so I think injectors using the right track?
One shows 596 at idle and the other 1324... other fault says restricted injectors

The high one may be compensating for the low one or vice versa depending which fires first, they are both way out of tolerance. 1000 is perfect, 200 up or down is acceptable.Thumbs Up
Photo compliments of Robbie Bow down , I keep it for reference. Look at this: http://disco4.com/forum/cylinder-balancing...ring+order

M3DPO many thanks.
It's also been suggested that I get a leak off test done... Any thoughts on that?
Thanks again Andy
