They are definately available. My dealer has sold a number and recommends the Nokia 6230. I havent brought one yet.

Crymers you are right they are available but only for the 6230 Shocked maybe Land Rover are trying to help Nokia sell 6230 handsets. I have a 6630 works well on bluetooth but according to LR C/S they are not sure if they will make a cradle for any more models, beggining to wonder why I paid the extra for the all singing all dancing kit I would have been better off with a parrot kit.

The following Nokia phones should work with the cradle:

Nokia 3100 (GSM)
Nokia 6100 (GSM)
Nokia 6200 (GSM)
Nokia 6220 (GSM)
Nokia 6230 (GSM)
Nokia 6820 (GSM)

All the others work with Bluetooth.

I have been told that other cradles are coming - to cover a much wider range of phones (the Range Rover system covers a whole host), but the LR themselves - as you have said - are as confused as everyone else.

I dont think they are pushing a phone, but they have found that that setup works perfectly. They had had alot of problems with other setups. Unfortunately the phone and the software version of the phone needs to be compatible. As per the Winger there should be other phones that work as well with the cradle.

how about SE phones ?

And is the dealer fit PTI good ? Does it use the radio display for incoming calls and address book navigation ?

Does the keypad allow you to dial ?

I really am pleased with my Jabra BT800 headset (best yet I've used) but would love an integrated solution.

Can anyone tell me categorically that the dealer installed version is good and uses the above features ?

Cheers,

-s

The factory fit bluetooth works well with my SE 910i.
You cant access the mobile's phone book,, but you can dial using the radio keypad or by voice recognition and building a phone directory there.

In addition, using bluetooth, incoming call numbers show up on the LCD display too - though I haven't figured if you have stored a number on the car phone system if this shows as a name or just the number.

Personaly untill I get a cradle which is compatabile with my phone or any other Nokia series 60 (symbian phone) then the bluetooth kit is next to useless for the money. If I wanted voice dial and hands free only I would have got a parrot kit for half the price, but what I was after was full phonebook sync and untill you get a cradle it isnt.

I'll never understand why phonebook sync over Bluetooth wasn't implemented for at least select phones. As this half-baked system was developed by Nokia, wouldn't you think Nokia Bluetooth phones could at least have this feature? BMW's Bluetooth system allows it.

I do agree with scorpio... without a compatible PTI cradle, the system is far from special for the cost.

Winger, as there is no "phone book" when a phone isn't cradled... there is no name to display on the LCD. You only get the number. Sad

The vehicle's "Voice Recognition phone book" is independent from the normal phone book and doesn't store text names, just your voice tags.

I have just spoken to my local dealer enquiring about the bluetooth kit. He informed me that at the moment Land Rover are modifying the kit. He said that there have been problems with the sat nav voice activation and the phone voice activation working against each other. He also quoted me a price of £640 inc vat for the kit.

I've got the PTI fitted in my Disco but no cradle. So I can't charge my phone Sad

Does anyone know the part number for the Nokia 6230 cradle?

Cheers

Phil.

XVE 500020

It takes more than a 6230. My mother's 6100 slots in fine, and works perfectly.

The phone screen is essentially replicated on the infotainment display.

Thanks. The dealership tried to say that the cradle only fitted the Range Rover.

Anyone got a picture of the phone working on the dash LCD?
