Bluie's Back!!!
Bluie is back and a BIG up for Frank Ogg & Tesco Warranty!!!
Problems started with the Suspension Fault Normal Height Only problem half way through hols on Kintyre when she also developed an engine system error and died, totally lacked power and it looked like the EGR(s) had packed up. She's back having had a new turbo and suspension compressor fitted at Frank Ogg in Elgin. The EGR error on the system has been logged with Tesco so if it has failed it's a straight forward issue to get it fixed.
Although the first Tesco Warranty issue on a breakdown for Frank Ogg, they got it all sorted and had the engineer round to inspect etc and paid Tesco directly. They were told by Tesco that they would supply turbo (non LR) but I agreed with the service manager that I would pay the extra for a "proper" turbo if just for my peace of mind. Only issue that wasn't resolved is wear on inside of tyres (not expecting this on warranty), put the car on the tracking checking machine thingie and all was within tollerances. Case of keep an eye on it.
Anyway, soooooooo glad I took out the Tesco warranty, and full RAC cover. Worked out that if I had neither I'd be £2,400 out of pocket. Almost didn't bother with the Tesco Warranty as the car had been relatively trouble free in LR warranty, thank the gods that I listened to the voices in my head!

Good news
How much extra was the proper turbo?
I thought most turbo's were made by garratt?

Of course Ron!!! Goes without saying, but must do better!
Paul, don't know how much the difference is other than I had to pay £107. Would rather have the same item as a LR part in case of problems later.

Just took out the Tesco finest warrenty last week to commence 12th May, got the pack yesterday, and what does'nt it cover, ALL FOR £41.50 a month (10 months). It covers the lot and a courtesy car. I feel the LR warrenty is a tad overpriced in comparison and thanks to threads like this put me onto tesco
Mine has gone into dealers today for issues that were logged with LRA before the warrenty had finished, so hopefully it will be sorted and then out for another year.

Bluie's now doing a sterling job, it's down in Cardiff at the mo! Glad I've got her as the other D3's f ed!!! Glad it has Tesco cover as well. I know JMC thinks he's sold me a pup but he didn't, he sold me a LR. In the voice of the soldier in Terminator, they break, it's what they do!
I never once thought that I'd sold you a pup! I just wonder what the feck you've been doing to my faithful old girl...... The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

I'm obviously not driving her in a manner that stops the gubbins clogging up! Must show Bluie a firmer hand.

Ah but the many miles you put on the car brings you in bucket loads of sponsoolies that you can spend on the car so that you have to drive many more miles to earn more of said spondoolies for things like foodl. Ever thought of putting your D3 on the trailer & towing it with the Fawawi or Maserpati, jobs a good un!
