Hi there,
I'm toying for some time now with the idea of having a air supply on the D3. The two options I've been pursuing are:
1. install a 3rd party compressor ( such as ARB for instance) in one of the glove boxes of the third row, use it for inflating tires but also, coupled with a distribution box that allows to inflate the airsprings individually http://www.opcionesavanzadas.com/faskiting.htm, avoid being stuck if the gold made LR compressor is down.
Pros: doubling the equipment
cons: no air tank, noise inside the car and no insurance that the 200psi theoretical capability of the compressor will be sufficient.
2. use up the existing compressor from LR and adapt a system that connects to the air tank and allows to inflate the tires on the factory build system http://store.mitchellbros.com.au/discovery...ir-off-kit
Pros: sounds like a neat install, no ?
cons: putting more burden on the stock compressor, high replacement costs of this latter
What's your take on that ?
Anyone tried something similar ?
Thx !
Benoit A second D3 ! This time with all whistles and bells (Auto, 7seats, Diff Lock, RAI, all kinds of protections, winch, Extended range tank, iPod adapter....)
First time twice the same car ! and first time third car of the same brand !
I'm loving it !
