if people only want tracking at night you can install an automatic SMS sender on phone, let it send tracking0 for off in the morning, tracking1 for on at night... Or just activate tracking when you want it on.
Or, just order the non GPS version.

Ok, so it can easily be turned on and off via SMS.
Then IMO it's fine and when Bodsy & co resolve D3 fans, I'll go for GPS version

Their is a good device on sale already which works well for fan control if it helps, their are also some others Ive used over the years ill dig out links for that are cost effective but this one does seem the best ive used.

mmmhhmmmm yes that sounds interesting.
my D3 2006 lost all glow plugs as well I'm afraid and after reading the horror stories of replacing those preheating is a better option.
I m interested in the simple set
how do I get one?
living here in France very much at the country side it's the 'enabling' bit that scares me off a bit.
not that much capable guys with the computers for D3 around here.
is there a simple way to make this work?

Does it need enabling on a D3?- thought it was only D4's that needed enabling!

Nothing to enable - just three wires to connect (Other bits are options) - Just need power and a wire to the FBH Mark.
