Boot protector recommendations
Hi all, I am looking for a boot protector, that will protect day to day (muddy boots / shopping etc) and sand from the beach but can also be stowed away in the vehicle if we need to use the 3rd row of seats so some sort of flexible / semi rigid thing.........any suggestions over the LR original rubber mat ?
Boot Buddy are very good at protecting the boot but won't make using the third row very easy.

I got a rubber mat from eBay, just search for discovery 3/4 boot liner. They come made to fit the car, so go around the seat belts and as they are rubber, just roll up if you need the seatsSill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

we went the whole hog,
LR Boot Liner, covered by Hatchbag - then dog cage on top so added protections was needed.
Then bought a lower tailgate cover off the bay.
All works well but not easily stowed if you need access to the 3rd row but protection was my main concern with dogs and muddy bootsD4 HSE - Aintree Green

This is probably of no use to you but a lot of people here in Ireland use these in commercial 4X4's. This one is advertised as fitting a Discovery 3 commercial or I'm guessing a 5 or 7 seater with all the seating down.

Its good for the money, better than I expected to be honest.
I had a Hatch-bag for years on my Freelander 1 and as has been said, they are good, but you can get cheaper. The thing against this is its sort of porous on top (more canvas than plastic/rubbery) so may absorb oil and stain whereas a Hatch-bag was more plastic on to so more of a wipe clean option. That said this one is waterproof on the base so should protect the carpet well.
Downsides of the soft covers over rubber ones though is that they dont seem to work well with the tailgate.
And then remove the carpet from the tailgate and fit a rubber cover, as the carpet there is a bit pointless (althoguh comfy to sit on I suppose)

SWMBO has the LR rubber mat in her Disco and while it is great and can be stowed away behind the rear seats, I recently bought an equally sturdy rubber mat (actually 2 of them) from Costco. Not quite as thick but offer great protection in my son's estate car which carries mountain bikes and other crap. Cheap as chips but great quality.SAAB 9-3 Convertible (bought before they all disappear)

Hi,
Here is a picture of mine (as mentioned/linked) earlier. As a former hatch bag user on my Freelander Id say not as good material is its a bit absorbent on the top (but still waterproof) so wont wipe clean like a hatch-bag will. So its an cheap option, ok, but not perfect.
