Hi All again. I've been reading the topics on the HDC problems and the connection with poor quality brake light bulbs. I've just changed one bulb purchased from a roadside garage without any HDC faults. I will replace it with a LR bulb just in case. My question is I tow a caravan and if there is a brake light bulb fault on the caravan do you think that will cause a problem with the car? If so I will carry LR spare bulbs for both units.
Thanks Roger

Bulb shouldn't cause an HDC fault unless a) it's the wrong type - easy to mix up a 380 with a 382 b) it's put in wrong, forcing the offset pins c) it blows in such a way as to complete a circuit across the brake and rear lamp terminals. So LR branded or Bosch/Halfords etc all fine. LR ones do seem to last a bit longer though. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
