Brakes. Again. Sigh
Second set of front discs, this time genuine LR discs and pads.
Very gentle running in, over a good few hundred miles and I never sit with my foot on the brake at lights etc.
2000 miles ish and wobble when braking is back
Cant feel any pulsating through pedal, but steering wheel wobbles-especially when braking at higher speeds.
Worse when hot.
To recap, the car has had:
New calipers front
New lower arms
New ARB bushes and drop links
New inner and outer track rods
New wheel bearings
Rear discs are old-but could they create a steering wheel wobble?
I have a dial thing to measure run out, but can never stick the magnetic end to anything well enough to test properly, but I dont believe that all these discs can be bent when new.
WTF is going on?

sounds like my issue, mine is now solved.
It was only a tiny bit of rust on the passengers side hub, i rubbed it down by hand with sand paper and I had issues with wheel vibration through steering wheel when breaking 30 mph plus, replaced disc's again but my brother has his own garage and we measured there was still 8 thou runout. Took the disk off again and got the DA on the hub to clean the rust off, refitted the disc measure run out at 1-2 thousands and no vibrations since.

Interesting!
i do clean the hubs when I change discs, but I will get the wheels off again and give them some mecanical force with a DA.

Discs and drums can go out of shape depending on how they are stored and handled.

My rears are very worn and old-I have no idea when they were changed last, but they are rusty etc.
Could they be doing it?

I don't think you would feel rear brakes through the steering wheel.Jaguar I-Pace HSE imminent.

My D4 has suffered from wobbly steering under braking on and off from new! Tried all sorts of different solutions, but the fact is that it has never got through a set of pads without needing discs too. Latest set have lasted 18 months, and about 16k miles, but are wobbling like a jelly now!!
It always has smooth brakes when a new set is fitted. It needs front suspension arms soon, so will be leaving it for now and putting up with it until I get chance to get the whole lot done.

Only one way to find out!
What about lower steering column uj?It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Another thing to check - scoring on the disc.
Mine suddenly picked up a wobble when braking from motorway speed down to around 50mph - checked the front discs and found one badly scored on the inside so not obvious just looking through the wheel.

Do you clean your new discs probably? They are covered in an anti corrosion coating which needs to be fully removed before fitting, plus all mating surfaces should be cleaned to bright metal then lightly copper sslipped to add future removal cleaning of the hub and ensuring flat surfaced hould all be done with hand tools preferably with something lick scotch brite. Very easy to remove a couple of thou on hub giving you run out.
Noticed you have changed the wheel bearings too was this done correctly? Over the years have come across some very poor workman shipDiscovery 3 HSE 07

Thanks for the reply. When I get round to it I will do all the above, although I do most of those anyway, cant harm to do it again!
I measured the hubs with my DTI and they seemed OK. Although as stated above, I cant get a REALLY solid magnetic lock on the car with the DTI.

I've read the above. Ours too has just got its braking steering wobble back less than a year and not many thousand miles after new discs and pads fitted under warranty.
