brighter stop/ tail lamps

Has anyone tried these? are they brighter?

currently on offer at Halfords but one pack get one free.

They're not brighter. The filament is designed to light up sooner than a normal lamp, but not as quickly as an LED would.
 I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I can´t believe that the speed of reaching full brightness would make any real world difference. If you are concerned about being rear-ended fit a towbar instead.
