Absolutely cracking looking boat there yawlboy Thumbs Up

Seriously rekindling my long held, but thus far suppressed, desire to own a boat Cool

BTW guys, would you recommend one of those “3” USB cards as a substitute for broadband at home while I wait for our wonderful telecoms companies to their act together ??

Also where can I get one, as I don’t seem to see anything obvious on the “3” web site Confused

Assuming you're sure you've got a '3' 3G signal at your place, then certainly. I'd happily use one instead of my broadband here if I had to, and I find it just as fast if not faster than most hotspot access when staying away from home here in Ireland and abroad. Their coverage checker is quite accurate now (it used to be out of date before) - just make sure you click 3G, otherwise you get 2G coverage shown as well.

http://www.three.ie/handsets_new/datacards_e220.htm The reason the 3GB package is dearer is because you can use it when not on 3's own 3G network. It will roam onto Vodafone's GPRS (slow!) network for access where there is no 3G signal, and doesn't let you use it on '3' networks around the world for free.

yawlboy, did that massive recovery truck go onto the ferry and then down to Cork, or what happened there? I'd say it cost the AA a fortune! Laughing

Cheers bkehoe Thumbs Up

I'm clinking the link to the data card now.

I've broadband out at the office, but at home I'm struggling with “Dinosaur Dial Up”, with really no light at the end of the tunnel.

Do I'm definitely going to look into one of these USB Modems.

3’s deal seems much better to me at first glance & their coverage map seems to be more definitive in my area than Vodaphone.

Thanks again for the advice Cool

Yep, their 3G coverage is far superior to Vodafones 3G coverage in Ireland.
