Broken down
Currently sat in a carpark waiting for LRA
pulled away and about 20 mtr up the carpark heard a clunk and then no drive, like the clutch has gone(it's a manual)
Got a message up saying " park brake fault park brake auto realease not functional.
But wondering if this is the park brake or not. As when I manually release it it still puts up the same message and the gearbox seems stiff and the car pulled away no problem from the parking space with no noticable problem with the park brake.
Anyone got any ideas?I have something to say! It's better to burn out... than to fade away!
My idea would be to just sit there and watch the yummy mummies walking past until LRA appear. It's no good them turning up to find that you have been messing with it yourself. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

I wouldn't attempt to play about with it, no expert myself and no yummy mums going past either just an office with no onexmanning the phones and business being lost as I'm sitting here in dispair.
Only popped out for something to eat.I have something to say! It's better to burn out... than to fade away!

Well a man from the AA just showed up. ( not a LR man) and has told me the clutch has gone, good job there is still 15 days on the warranty to run.
I now have to sit here for another 2 hours waiting for a recovery lorry to take it to the dealers.
Not at all impressed as when it went in for service 2 weeks ago I told them I was not happy with the clutch as it seemed not to bite in the same place recently. They had the car 3 days to do the service, MOT and a recall issue and said they could find nothing wrong with the clutch. Well there dam well is now.I have something to say! The stealer now has my D3, they are stripping it at the moment but are unsure if it is a gearbox or clutch problem as the reversing lights are on all the time regardless of which gear they put it in.
Would I be right or not to assume that as the car is still under warranty (15 days to go) that this would be repaired at no cost to me. Only done just over 40k and they had it for service about 10 days ago.I have something to say! It's better to burn out... than to fade away!

Well I'm not sure about the clutch as they do wear out, however at only 40k you should have a reasonable argument for the part not being fit for purpose. Hopefully Land Rover will sort it for you.

If you have a MY2006 car (as per your profile), could it be within the VIN range for the Technical Services Bulletin on the clutch? This thread may be of interest to you.
Oh, and possibly this one too.Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana
