I have a 05 disco 3.
Never had a proper bonnet release just the short cable sticking out above the headlamp I had to pull with pliers. Never got round to fitting the other longer part (or didn't fancy it really)
Now my bonnet won't open tugging the cable anymore.
Passengers side seems to be open (RHD) drivers side seems stuck.
Help!! low brake fluid light showing!
How do I open it?

Hi Pulled the bonnet release lever and off side catch has released but not the near side. No movement on the cable with mole grips attached. I can see the near side catch through the grill, I've un-clipped the grill but it does't want to come out. Should i be making more effort to remove it?. All help would be appreciated.

Hi Gents, Sorry to do this but can someone please PM how to get the bonnet open when the cables separated? Stuck in work with a dodgy battery but the bonnets stuck fast.

If the key isn't just spinning in the lock, loads of WD40 and patience should sort it.
Towing electrics allow you to get 12v to the battery if you have them. .

Hiya - just hoping someone still gets a ping from these old threads. My bonnet cable has broken while I was fixing my rear brake caliper and I need to top up the fluid- can anyone help with the sacred answer of getting in without destroying it?
