Thanks guys
I have a background in boatbuilding, surfboard making, carpentry and building so all that tends to help a bit.
This sort of project takes quite a bit of time and one needs some patience.
Worth it in the end though as I've been camping and it makes it so much easier to be organised.2005 TDV6 HSE Silver, LLAMS Height Controller, Tinted Glass, Onroad - 19" GG AT's, Offroad - 18" 275/65 MT, Traxside Dual Battery kit, Rasta Protection Plate, Alpine Roof, BAS Remap, ARB Air Compressor, eDiff Custom Drawer and storage unit -http://www.box.com/s/jem0ilac3cner2mexq64 UHF CB, 4x4 Intellegence RWC, 120ltr Long range tank, Rock Sliders and Compressor protection plate Beanie grill, De Tango.

For those who wish to make their drawers higher you may wish to use one of these Drop down slides.
Note they drop 300mm so you would need the case to be at least 300mm high ( remember plus the height of the fridge open of course needs to be taken into consideration)

Loving the drop slide. Any idea on cost for one? Also, do you know how much height the handle needs to clear the top tailgate?

On the website they have the specs on the slides.
The bigger 60 model is approx $675
utube demo:
The ORS slide I bought was $325, expensive but built strong and won't rattle!2005 TDV6 HSE Silver, LLAMS Height Controller, Tinted Glass, Onroad - 19" GG AT's, Offroad - 18" 275/65 MT, Traxside Dual Battery kit, Rasta Protection Plate, Alpine Roof, BAS Remap, ARB Air Compressor, eDiff Custom Drawer and storage unit -http://www.box.com/s/jem0ilac3cner2mexq64 UHF CB, 4x4 Intellegence RWC, 120ltr Long range tank, Rock Sliders and Compressor protection plate Beanie grill, De Tango.

Great topic. This is my Xmas holiday project

Rich,
Great project,looks very well made
I have to ask, in the unfortunate event that your lower tailgate latch cable snaps, rendering it impossible to get into the car externally from the back, the only way i'm aware of is climbing into the boot via a 2nd row door, pulling the lining off the lower tailgate to get to the snapped cable to release the tailgate mechanism for you to then be able to repair/replace the latch!
With your set up have you thought about this?I have a friend who had a set of wooden drawers installed and the above happened unfortunately he had to smash the life out of the drawer system to get access to the tailgate panel, needless to say,the draw system is now no longer useable or in the car
I am also interested in your view on this as i too,now have a metal gun storage system in the boot of mine from forum sponsor Trans K9 and it is secured via a different method than they supply(for my own reasons)but it dawned on me,if the bloody cable snaps which it did last year(boot only had a christmas tree in at time)how would i or anyone for that matter get in to replace/release the latch cable? I can only see a 9" angle grinder coming out to cut the system up for access
Anyway on a positive note, the system works well and does what its intended for
