Does anybody know if the extra bumper lights (without the bull bar) will resist a car wash?
I did not risk it yet. Did anybody try it?

I think they may be vulnerable, I would never use a car wash, I don't trust or like them at all.

Never, ever use a car wash - (semi) re-cycled water, brushes containing god knows what and chemicals of a dubious nature Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

I have used a car wash before and if you mean the fog lights, then, yes they can take it.
The car wash was a 'laser' one though. It didn't have any brushes, it just sprays.
If you mean the LR driving lights, then I don't know. My IPF's are waterproof to 1m.
But. I actually agree with the others. Don't use it if you can avoid it. even though the one here doesn't touch the car with anything other than water, They use very strong water softeners that can affect the paint. Have a nice day!

Fog lights are OK, I meant the additional beam lights fitted on the bumper.
I know carwash is not the nicest thing you can do to a car. Therefor, I almost don't clean the car. It looks OK, far better than the shiny off-road BMW, Porche, Mercedes and Audi that use to cruise in the big cities and get a car wash at least every week.
But sometimes I remind myself how nice the metallic red colour shines in the sun...
How do you clean the car?
Which chemicals?
Do you clean the bottom of the car as well? After each off road trip?

The bumper mounts are a bit flexible and not substantial, and I would expect a carwash to either move them or rip them off.
I always wash my car by hand, using a Karcher pressure washer, then sponge and proper car shampoo. I always use a chamois, and wax it once a month.
It still looks immaculate after 54k, and I am also not afraid to get it muddy when required. The thing about having a clean car in the first place, is that mud comes off waxed paintwork much easier.
I have found that using Caravan cleaner neat with a scrubbing brush brings the black plastic wheelarches and sills up like new. It gets the ingrained dirt out very effectivley. Always use a plastic protector afterwards, such as Autoglym Bumper care, or Armor All etc.
The wheels are difficult to keep perfect. They get damaged if used off-road, and brake dust is difficult to remove if left too long. The only tip I have for this is to make sure you wax the wheels before the brake dust sticks. It helps the cleaning in the future. Keep applying the wax to the wheels each wash. Its working so far on my re-finished wheels, and so far the brake dust is easily removed.

I washed may car 3 times in the 15months I own it.
Seems I have to improve myself.
Every week, although, I pick the three blades of grass that started to grow between the mudguard and the body

Listen, by the sound of it you may have trouble from the owner of the car wash if you try to put your car through it! it sounds like it may be too much for a car wash, and may need some elbow grease from yourself.
Took me 2.5 hours yesterday to give mine a thorough inside and out clean.

it is not so bad as it sounds, but the three blade of grass keep growing there....
I did an thorough cleaning about a month ago, inclusive all the leather.
Took me almost the complete day.

OMG that is funny! I don't mind cleaning my car, and actually quite in enjoy doing the exterior. But my goodness are there a lot of crevices in the interior. i have collected a lifetimes worth of dust in just a few months!
