Also I’ve looked at a 09 disco 3 for 12000 am I better off buying a 4 for around 15000 on a 10 plate xs model and do thy same similar problems many thanks

There is a marked improvement from the D3 to the D4, no question, but then you are playing the "what if" game. If you're going to buy a D4 then hold out for the extra £5k and get a 2012 one with the beter engine and 8 speed box. So the question is one of budget, for example, if you are on a tight budget then it may be the case that the best well maintained and serviced late D3 would be a better than the cheapest D4.
It's as long as it is tall but at the end of the day, Land rover didn't go from the D3 to the D4 for no reason..D3 07 SE - still going strong
D3 07 HSE - gone to car heaven
FL1 - gone to Romania
D3 05 HSE - gone to a divorce diet
D1 V8 manual - gone but not forgotten
RR Classic - gone to car heaven
Jeeps, Lexus, X-trails... Too many to name..

Remember to budget for service and repairs, too. Don’t spend your last cash on the vehicle.

Search for BAS remap here on google. Seen it in some people’s signatures here, too.
