C1A20-64 (2E) Pressure increases too slow when filling

Morning Folks, the past few weeks I have been chasing a fault code C1A20-64 (2E) Pressure increases too slow when filling reservoir..... I did find a problem with my AMK Compressor (GOOSED) which has been replaced along with the relay, however after dancing around for an hour happy as larry the dreaded PING and amber light was back????? My GAP ID11 tool said C1A20-64 (2E) Pressure increases too slow when filling reservoir, This time with the 2E?????....

If you look at the workshop manual it has a long list of what could be the issue.. So the Air springs are fine all inflated, the reservoir has no hissing of a pin hole, so Im pointing towards pressure sensor/ reservoir valve block????

All help and look here, look there and test this would be very much appreciated, loosening what hair I have left....

Cheers

Stu.

Hi Stu

If you are 100% sure the reservoir is OK? (they usually rust and hole on the TOP so not easy to find the leak) And the System IS holding air?

I Would think it could very well be that you have valve block issues - As the desiccant for the air dryer turns to dust it gets carried around the pneumatic system.

The easiest place to check is probably the front valve block which is located under the front drivers side wheel arch liner at the front toward the bumper.

If you are handy - Find Landy-air and get a new seal kit for all the valves around £15 for the full set. Carefully strip and re-build each one.

I you are not handy - Ask Disco Micky for a quote...

Hi G-Cam, Thanks for getting back to me, I check the valve value's on the ID11 tool looking at the live values, They all actuated and held pressure 100%?? it's the 2E that is confusing me,...... So just back from doing another test... and before I started the engine I checked the live values, and found Gallery Pressure at 99Kps?? started the Engine and got to 1020Kps and Ping, Shut the engine down ran around to the passenger side to hear HISSSSSSSSSS.. New tank please ......... so G-Cam you were right and I thank you for your help..

C1A20-64 Pressure increases too slow when filling

Hi,

I'm having a problem with the air pump system, getting the above code.

The pump seems to keep running; will go up and down on the suspension before the fault pings up, the suspension stays up and is level.

Reading the threads, I'm suspecting the reservoir is the problem, but before I buy a replacement, is it likely to be the pump (AMK) or a leaking reservoir?

Got under the car earlier, and sprayed soapy water around the pump (couldn't see any leaks), but only found this link once I'd put the cover back on, and came inside.

I've had the same fault code for a couple of weeks now. Today I heard a definite hiss from the air reservoir area, I could tell it was in the middle. I sprayed the whole tank with soapy water and confirmed a pinhole on the chassis side, out of sight. You can spray the soapy water all over the tank and any bubbles formed will tumble down the side in a minute or two.
The 10mm bolts were really rusty. One came out normally, two came out with mole grips and the last needed cutting off with a Dremel. Watch you don't mangle the plastic supply hose when trying to work the tank out. The hose connector has a 12mm union.
