I filled up on Tuesday morning, everything was okay until I went and collected 4 new tyres. Put them in the back of the car and noticed a smell but assumed it was the tyres at first. But it quickly became apparent it's a fuel smell.
It's not cold so don't think it's the FBH. Can't see any obvious signs of leaks around the injectors, and can't see any fuel around the fuel filter (but guess it will evaporate so might be hard to spot).
Are there any other common causes?

Diesel? Wouldn't evaporate, so if it's not evident around the filter, very unlikely to be the fault location. .

Could check around your exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipes for leaks. Those leaks are easier to find because you can hear them when they are bad, if they are tame holding a piece of tissue paper can help because the leak will “waft” the tissue. 2008 LR3 HSE, 4.4L V8

Diesel smell and as in the fuel itself or the exhaust gases?
Check leak off pipes either side of the engine, good torch needed, took me bloody ages to find the dribble that was causing the smell in the cabin, no not me but the car!

Yes, diesel, and it's a diesel smell rather than exhaust gases.
I did inspect those pipes but maybe not well enough, will have another look today.

Check high pressure pipe drivers side where the high pressure pipe fixes to the driver side common rail.
