2005 LR3 4.4 V8 SE Auto Zambezi SilverLR3
calling all alpaca beige owners!

Before buying our LR3 in November of 2005, I went an Auto Show, to look at our potential future car. The leather in their was the beige, and after seeing the official pictures of the interior, we were sold on the beige and thought that it looked better and more "homely" than the ebony black. But after seeing the ruined interior at the auto show, we had second thoughts. The leather was almost completely ruined with a-lot of grey on the bottom of the backrest, and that was on the first few days of the auto show, and it shouldn't be like that on a $50,000 truck! So, we got the black leather and we are very pleased with it, but for anyone with the beige leather, and i'm just curious, how do your seats look now?

I have alpaca leather and yes it is starting to look discoloured particularly on the drivers seat. Doesn't really worry me though as I consider it to be patina of usage.

baby wipes restore the leather to original ....safe as well, after all, if you'd wipe a babys bum with it.........

Does anybody have any similar tips for the alpaca cloth trim? We've only had the car for a few weeks and already there's a couple of marks on the seats Evil or Very Mad

Is it best to just use the 'interior shampoo' type stuff (the foam/spray cans with the little brush on the end)?

Sold my HSE with alpacca leather (can't come to think of it as beige) after 16 months and 15000 miles, leather was good as new apart from the strip to the right side of the drivers seat which had picked up a little blue from my jeans. All I did was wipe the leather down every couple of months with a damp cloth with a little washing up liquid on it, always came up Thumbs Up .

Has a similar problem with a leak on alpacca cloth. DiscoDunc used his magic machine on it and it came up like new. I've now got LR seat covers on as the cloth is a lot harder to keep clean than the leather IMHO.
