| Camera / PDC not the usual question |

I am looking for some advice regarding an issue with the above
2 weeks ago I had a shunt in my D4 which damaged the front number plate and mount but also damaged one of the front sensors pushing it into the bumper.
The local indy I use replaced the damaged PDC unit but said that the clip on the bumper it was attached with was broken.
Instead of replacing the bumper which was one suggestion they had I took them up on the offer to secure it in place with a cable tie which they said would work
For the last 2 weeks no issue and all worked well but yesterday on the motorway I get error message that cameras are not available etc.
The sensor on the front still appears in place
My question is
Is it possible that after the two weeks the sensor has worked loose and if so would it give this error message
If it is this how likely is it that a fix with a cable tie will work ( or anything else if anyone has any ideas ) or will I have to replace the front bumper for a simple broken PDC mount 
I dont really want to pay the garage to fix again if it wont work
