Camping fridge/freezer
Hi all,
Looking for a camping fridge/freezer for
a) the caravan as a chest style freezer
b) my sankey
I've been looking at the Waeco CF 80 and the CFX 65
Need one that fill freeze in the warmer climates.
Are there any other makes I should be looking at or is Waeco pretty much the main one to go for?

I have a National Luna weekender which is a fridge freezer, and is great. It keeps stuff frozen in the hottest of climates. Look at National Luna as an alternative.

I have the Waeco CF80 and the CFX50 bought from MPS trading, I was speaking to Simon a few days ago and he was telling me about a special deal he had on a Terrafirma 45ltr Fridge Freezer, not the same league as the others but still very good, until the end of the month it includes a free full bag/cover (cost of one of these covers for an Engel is about £180 and £120 for Waeco) and 240v to 12v adapter as it only runs on 12v, anyway details here:
The CFX Waeco range has the remote temp sensor unit that lets you keep an eye on the temp if its say in the boot where you can't see, sometimes 12v sockets get knocked out and this would alert you, I have it in the motorhome. Also some other offers on his site so worth a look around

i don't need anything like the cost of an Engel just able to hold our chilli tasters chilled and keep the cool packs frozen so this will fit the bill ideal...great price 8)
also come in handy when off in the camper TLO has left the building.......

No problem, I think Simon was off on holiday but he must have staff there who can help, I understand the offer is until the end of the month but all in all it does seem good value for the size.

We have been using an Engel 35 litre fridge for over 10 years now, bought it secondhand and it has never gone wrong. Low noise and power consumption so ideal for tent use next to where you are sleeping and good life on car battery. We have yet to fit a dual battery system but it is on the cards. Unfortunately, the Disco is so complicated that it seems to need a complicated dual battery control system so we are just waiting until we can beat a path to Nene Overland as they supply a Disco friendly unit.

The Disco Dual battery system is a piece of cake, do a search on here and all will be revealed

Thanks for the info, will start looking tomorrow evening as the Nene solution was looking rather expensive at about 400 plus battery and fitting.
Arrived today. Extremely solid piece of kit and, on paper at least, low current draw too. Thanks again for the recommendation DT I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
