camshaft drive
camshaft drive
I've just bought a 2008 discovery 3. I'm struggling to find information about the engine. How is the camshaft driven, if its a belt when should it be changed? I always like to change them before manufacturers recommendation. I don't seem to be able to locate a workshop manual anywhere, its not that I want to do the work but I like to know whats to be done and when. The discovery I've bought has high mileage for the year but a full Land Rover service record.

Welcome to the site glendruidh.
ISTR that the cambelts are part of the 105K service.
There is no workshop manual as such only access to Land Rovers Technical Reference Guide which costs $$$$
If I'm wrong I'm sure somebody wil correct me shortly.
Sold: HSE-G4, Tangiers Orange. (one of your 5 Discoverys a day)

As has already been said, cambelt change due at 105,000 miles or 7 years whichever come first. I had a quote for a 105k service of about £900 including all belts etc...
