Can driver's door mirror be tightened up?
I've realised why I have to keep adjusting the mirror position - the whole head has about 5mm of near-free movement on it. With the head in the correct (forward) position, I get the whole range of movement on the glass. But the slipstream will push the head inwards slightly, so to get the correct view I have to push the glass slightly as it's beyond the normal articlation of the mirror motors - and doing so then the pushes the whole head back to the correct position anyway. And so it goes on.
Is it possible to tighten up the mirror head mounting to stop it being blown backwards and therefore inwards? And, if so - how?
Many thanks.

I am affraid it means mirror swap for you. If the main pivot is loose you'd have to replace whole unit.
Loook for one cheapo on ebay

You could be lucky, only a broken tab or two on the actual mirror glass mounting point.[img]

They corrode pretty badly inside, so I would slather the pivot point in your favourite penetrating oil and give the mirror head a work out with your hand!
