Think the LR dealer lift the body off the chassis to change the turbo but ISTR others have done it without this being necessary.2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

When LR replaced my turbo last year they did it through the wheel arch. There was no need to remove the body.
ISTR the book says its a 6.5 hour job, but I maybe wrong on this. For details on the next Kielder Safari click visit the Kielder Safari website

Guava tried that but the turbo was stuck on solid. They'd have preferred not to do it that way but needs must.

As above engine built on t/bed using studs to slide on but when insitu of car you can only slide to end but bulkhead stops it so you have to cut studs then use bolts to put back on in a confined space so unless you are a decent mechanic skilled with tools? leave to experts....

When you have a turbo on a diesel quite a lot of people drive gentle so chokes up give a short blast down m/way 3rd gear full revs see the amount of crap coming out of exhaust, engine seems to always go better after..
