Can I just swap the screen and headunit for a higher spec

Hi All
Sorry for posting this again as it was included in the bowels of one of my other posts, I just need an informed yes or no so I can let this unit go if it’s not possible ...... Can I just swap out the CD player/head unit, screen and button panel in my 2009 GS for the same bits but out of a higher spec XS? So the bigger screen button/click panel and CD/ Nav unit? My current has Bluetooth which I want to continue to work but I think the new HU would have this as well anyway!

I’m hoping I can just swap them out but not sure if I will need a new loom or anything?

Thanks
Andy

Andy,

We've talked about this on another thread here and something i'm hoping to do later this year when I get a moment and some morale support!

So to recap - yes you need new loom and MOST fibre connections to each module which you don't have in your GS

Dash out and MOST wiring installed - Loom LR021285
Premium or hiline Amp (even your midline harman would need updating I’m afraid
MOST Wiring from dash to rear quarter panel
Screen
Clock
Headunit
DAB Module
Sav nav aerial

edit: as yours is a 2009 you'll need a separate Bluetooth module too IIRC that sits in rear quarter panel

Thumbs Up

Its the Fibre Optic cable that connects the AMP, Sat Nav, Head Unit, DAB and Bluetooth. Has to be connected in a ring

Aghhh ok thanks for that! I will have part of the dash out as fitting heated seats in next couple of weeks and thought it may be good to do this at the same time but not if it would mean I need all the other bits As well first as will take a bit longer to get them all together!
Cheers for the info!
