Can't change navigation search area

Hello all,

I have a strange problem with my satnav which I can't fathom, I can't change the destination search area back from France to the uk.

I was sat in tha car a couple of days ago I had a couple on mins to kill, so I thought I would work out how long the satnav thought it would take to get me to a camp site in France I was thinking of visiiting. I changed the destination search area to France and it calculated the route fine. But now I can't change the destination search area back to the UK, or any other European country come to that. Every time I go to the screen with the list of countries I press another counrty and it shows in the display the new selection, but when I press the back button in the top right of the screen it's back in France!

The satnav still works fine for stored locations, but I can't now go anywhere new, apart from in France it seems.

Anyone any ideas, seen anything like this before?

Steve

When you went back to select the country i think that changes the address format for putting in the destination. Check that the next time you have a look. It doesn't physically change the country that the car is sitting in.

Hello Border Rover,

Yes, thats right, the car still shows all the uk roads etc as I drive around, and I can select a uk destination via the map, but Postcode or POI entry is only for French locations.

I'm beginning to think that it may be some kind of physical damage to the navigation DVD and it cannot load the correct address formats etc.

I think it might be worth trying to get the disk out and give it a gentle clean.

Sorted

Razz That was it, the disk needed a clean. Took it out, cleaned with a micro fibre cloth and put it back.

I could then change back to the uk. 8)

Unless, of course it was removing the disk and replacing it again that reset something else.

Still, all's well that ends well.
