Can't get your front drive shaft out? Try this...

I have been trying to get the front nearside drive shaft out to replace the worn boot all morning with no success. Pry bars, screwdrivers, drill drifts, all no good.

Then I saw this...

10 mins later I had this in place..

And 2 minutes later it was safely off. Maybe this is old news to you but thought it was worthwhile sharing as I was getting nowhere until I saw then guy in the video using a chain (and a sledgehammer is always to hand when working on a D3!)
Cheers
Chris

The you tube person used a slide hammer, did you just use the sledge to lever it or what did you do?

no slide hammer

Hi, I didnt have access to a slide hammer so I improvised using the sledgehammer as a pendulum weight at the end of the chain.. I also put a board underneath the chain so that it didnt get caught in any of the metalwork when I swung the hammer.
Cheers
Chris
