Carrying a Spare Wheel 2

Having looked at the swing away carrier, and taking onboard the comments about it being a pain in the peverbials after a while, what options do I have with securing a spare alloy and MTR on the Expo semi-permanently.

I dont want to just padlock it with a HD chain, but what about a clamp, and to supply protection I may use a spare cover on it.

Any thoughts or pics, and where/who does them are appreciated Thumbs Up

I have a mount that Uncle Ray made.
Bolts on to the rack.
Wheel goes over threaded bar
Big wing nut screws down to hold it in place
There is a hole at the top of the bar through which you could put a padlock once the wing nut has been screwed down...

spare wheel carrier which slots into rack is the way forward, and has a hole to put a lock in.

I've got the same, good solution for when it's needed. But you don't want to be lifting a spare up and down from the expo very often !!!

Initially looking at 3months, work are sorting out a sebaticle for me....................time out as 2009 was a bad year, and still aint sorted entirely.

Anyhow, trying to equip myself to try and be self sustained as such. Not doing offroading, but light greenlaning to impress the father in law as he swears by his GMC pick up Laughing
