I like to listen to talking books, no problem if they are on CD but half the library collection is on compact cassette. Can anyone recommend a set up (tape player plus interface) that will enable me to play cassettes through the vehicle's sound system. I have a MY 2008 HSE with whatever comes as standard with it in terms of hi-fi.
Any ideas gratefully received

Get an old walkman and plug it into the aux socket or hook up a cassette player to a computer and capture the whole lot to mp3 The End

What's a compact cassette ???
If you search the web, there is a talking book website where you can download MP3 talking books for a reasonable subscription (I know it's more than the library). Most mobile phones allow you to store audio on the built in memory or memory card and then you can play via the aux input. I have a 2 gig card in my phone and can store lot's of music and films.
My father is blind and uses talking books all the time. I often put them onto a MP3 player for him when he goes on holiday. Apparently the libraries are only going to have CD soon, once the cassette's have worn out.
