CE Plate
Hi,
I have a 2009 Discovery LR3 which was originally destined for the USA market before being registered in the UK. It has the Petrol 4.0 Ford V6 engine which I had adapted to LPG when I acquired it many years ago. The car has been great and very economical on many a trip to and from Spain. I'm now looking to get a quote to transfer the car to Spanish plates so that I can leave it here year round.
To do this I need to locate the CE plate - Any ideas? I have looked everywhere that I can think. Being for the US market would it have had one?
Any thoughts gratefully received!
Many thanks

Are there any additional markings on the VIN plate?
From the article.......... "The VIN plate is located on the brake pedal box in the engine compartment. The VIN is also stamped on the RH side of the chassis to the rear of the front lashing eye."
From what I recall from my turbo-generator manufacturing days, the CE certification is associated with the product design and not your specific car (on its own). You get a visible CE mark (EU law requirement) leading back to the 'Technical File' which supports the CE claim.
I am sure I have read previous articles (not necessarily on here) where someone contacted a manufacturer and got a CE certificate for export. Noting LR excellent customer service performance , why not just ask them outright?

You will need a certificate of conformity from Land Rover customer services (homologation dept.) It was about £100 when I needed one to import my Discovery to Portugal.D1 300TDI ES. just kept going, sold at 170k miles, body beginning to rust

Many thanks. I contacted LR customer services earlier. The agent I am going to use here believes that importing Land Rovers into Spain can be complex and expensive (they love red tape), the CE plate or notice will allow me to get an accurate quote to see if it is worth it.D3 4.0L V6
