it's a real thing... the owner comes from a well prepared Defender90 and he doesn't like the "braked Traction Control" of D3, here is the ARB option,
in my opinion the Terrain Response provide a good traction but it sends the lock signal to the center diff when a difference in rotation (left to right) comes from one or both axels, while when wheels on same axel have the same speed it thinks to drive at full traction unlocking the center diff
Maybe any skippy friend have experienced the same thing - Easy-Lift suspension module 4.0

This is an “old” discussion, between old skool defender/toyota/other brand adepts.. and D3/4 adepts / drivers..
You drive a D3 or D4 differently.... than an old skool 4x4
If you do not want that, do not drive/buy a D3/4 it is another motor/car
Let him take a look at this video...
Best regards
Harold

In Rock Crawl the center diff is locked - and does not unlock - if the CDL unlocked then your friend must have been in another TR setting.

IidTool and the 4x4 info shows a different behaviour in rock crawl. It is locked when the car is still and in 1st gear (low range), but as soon as the car moves on a good traction surface it unlocks until the TC engage on brakes... - Easy-Lift suspension module 4.0

It is variable up to 100% ...its more readily primed to kick in in rock crawl.
Having driven the 3 & 4 off-road in multiple terrains, I'm still not sure what you think the issue is? Are you suggesting it's not as capable? There's 16 years of evidence on this site that suggests otherwise. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Dear DG, never tought about d3/4 are not capable offroad, with mine i already get lot of satisfactions offroad, but the issue is that this friend of mine has ARB lockers on both axels and ehen offroad with lockers on, they seem to confuse the traction control inducing it to disengage the CDL. Thas all, so just loocking a way to maintain locked the CD bypassing the TR - Easy-Lift suspension module 4.0

What does ARB tell you/him about fitting them to a D3 or 4 on BOTH axles?
The LR system is designed to work with max one diff lock (optional on the rear) as far as i know..
My D3 has the optional rear lock, but it is fully integrated in the LR system..
If a firm, like ARB said their airlocker will work on a D3/4 i am sure they can tell you how.....to use it...
Why do i suggest ARB directly? Well i think, that airlockers (at the front) on D3/4 are not very common, here in Europe..
TBH, i think it is rather “strange” so to say, to fit expensive airlockers rear AND front on a D3/4 before you know if you really need them on such a motor/car and even more if it will work on such a motor/car... Best regards
