Centre console removal for wiring IPOD stuff |
|
Can someone point me in the direction of any info for removing the centre console bits without beraking any more bits than i already have. Basically i'm trying to do a neat job of installing a HK Drive and play & although it was only £30 i'll be well over that soon in broken bits of plastic.

You basically just pull it, the vertical section from both bottom arms straight back and the horizontal section, there is a screw holding the park brake on and then it is just pull it, from the front I'm sure.
Both of them feel like they are about to break before they end up in your hands in one piece.
There are a couple of posts on here, just cant find them at present, maybe try searching for centre console, radio, armrest or fridge Joined the BMWX5 45e group

It's the install guide for the GVIF unit, but has pics and details on how to remove the centrfe console bits and some of the fascia.
Hope it helps.

SUCCESS! Job done in 5 minutes.
I pulled hard a left side release but right side would not budge.
I only reeded to get under left side to feed a cable and although I think i lost the top clip it pushed back in place nicely and appears to be properly seated.
Many thanks
