Certificate of Conformity
Hello
I’m needing a certificate of conformity to transfer my newly purchased discovery 3 from the UK to France. The last time I did this was with BMW and they charged a bloody fortune!
Anyone have a more cost effective way to get one? Traveled through the paperwork for the car but nothing is there sadly.2006 tdv6 s Cairns blue

LR Web site states.......
"Certificates of Conformity can only be provided for vehicles purchased within the EU. Please be aware that there may be a charge for this and it can vary between markets. Please contact your local market to find out more. Land Rover do not provide Certificates of Conformity for any other markets that fall outside of the EU."
This is an interesting web site though? https://www.eurococ.eu/en Looks like a little over 200 Euros would sort it?
Good luck "Track day running - Don't put your foot back on the accelerator until your absolutely sure you don't have to take it off again"

We have just been through this and LR were a nightmare. It took 8 weeks to sort out.
However, I don't, think we need it after all that. Everything has now changed and is now done online. Which I am led to believe that you only need the type approval number that is on the log book.

Sorry I obviously wasn’t clear. I meant someone that might have access to them for free. I’ve done this far too many times now over the years and I object to paying so much for what is really just a worthless piece of admin.2006 tdv6 s Cairns blue

Ive probably done 8 or 9 Landrovers over the years.
The best way I have found is to go through Land Rover France.
Though the robbing b@st@rds have just put the price up to 280€

It’s a scam though isn’t it. A CofC shouldn’t be vehicle specific, they don’t test each one complies, it’s a design based certification like type approval.
The CofC will have covered a whole range of EU regs, such as EMC emissions, LVD, etc. And lots, lots more.Sill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

What's a scam???
You need a Certificate of conformity to import ANY vehicle into France,as I think you do with many other countrys.

I almost didn’t need one for my old X5 because they took the type approval number from the V5 in Carcasonne. That was until they noticed that French X5 and UK X5 don’t have the same model names and so they couldn’t do it without one in the end.

I think this has changed now that it is online, they can use the number on the log book (I forget which one but it has an e in it), I was talking to somebody who did this oneline in December and they didn't need to get a coc.

It's a scam, as the CofC is done as part of the design process and is mandatory for JLR to do before they sell any car in Europe. Hence charging for one is a scam - they already have it for the car and just charge you for the privilege of getting a copy.
It's a further scam, as long as you have proof of origin (i.e. first sold in the EU) then they shouldn't need a CofC as its a European wide certificate.Sill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders
