Changing air-con switch panel

I've got the standard basic air-con where its all one temperature. The wife is on a different climate zone and likes it hot the oposite to me. If I fit a dual switch panel with left/right temp controls will it work or is there more that would need changing behind the dash?

It's not just the HVAC unit that gives you the dual zone. You'll need the sensors and the motorised shutters/valves in the heater box.

I've done the the HVAC and the sensors on our BASIC 5-seater and it isn't a job for the faint hearted, it does however make for a more stable cabin temperature.

Good luck!!

Oh, I should have said - you'll need a "Hi-spec" wiring loom and a solfering iron as well as the other mentioned bits even if you just do the sensors Laughing

According to Neil's Profile he's got an '07 S. So what determins the work will be what Radio head unit you have , the basic or the more posh one. There are 3 levels of wiring loom depending mainly on the Entertainment systems your spec has:
1. Low - 7/5-seater Basic
2. Mid - higher level Radio but no Sat-Nav
3. High - HSE

Mine had the BASIC low end, so I went and bought a HSE loom, stripped out the bits I needed and then soldered them into the car - scary, but a lot less work than taking out the dash to replace the loom Laughing
