I have used the supplied jack a few times whilst off road on uneven surfaces and have every confidence in it although the brace has been replaced with a socket and strong arm.

Jamo,
My hydraulic jack came with a D1 years ago, it was the only fully functional part of the car. It has the longest extended hight I have seen for a small jack. When I traded it in on a Pootrole I swoped it for another one. Although the car looked pristeen the only good bit was the jack.

I've got that one too as does gilmorr - be careful though as both he and I have bent the front legs (though I have had mine replaced Whistle ) because the car shifted a tiny bit. Make sure you use the LR chocks as directed, and use the EPB and stick the jack on a piece of ply to allow it to roll freely as its lifiting. Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
