Cigarette lighters

Bit of a loss with the cigarette lighters in the D4, front passenger side working, drivers side and rear not working?

Any thoughts

Thanks.

Fuses checked? ISTR they are on different fuses along that split, which might explain one working, others not. Thumbs Up

PS Plus they are different relays. Thumbs Up

Another option would be to swap the relays over, if the fault moved then you’d knowingly was a relay issue. Assuming it’s not a fuse. Thumbs Up

Remember any advice given here that seems the slightest but techie is taken entirely at your own risk! Laughing Laughing Laughing

That got it, I had changed fuse 53 I didn’t know 63 was also used. SHMBO doesn’t know what she did but she must have done it twice. Whistle

i assume they are proper lighters...the two front sockets on mine are just for 12 supply for kit and wont support lighters...think they are option

Simples. Plugged something in that pulled too much ampage, blew fuse, thought “that’s not working” then stuck same device into the other socket. What would be useful is to know what she was using that either stopped working or didn’t work, ie blew the fuse as soon as it was plugged in. Thumbs Up

Check the contacts on both charger and monitor plugs for any signs of discolouration, plug cases for any indication of buckling or warping, any stiffness in sections of the the cables etc.

A periodic short in a plug or cable may not show itself in operation in most condition - but it only needs to happen once for the fuse to pop.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

United Kingdom 2011 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 XS Auto Sumatra BlackDiscovery 4

I used a 3 way splitter into back of centre console socket ... the plug on it melted and fuse didn't pop !

Was potentially drawing 16A but suspect actual issue was that it wasn't a good fit in the socket.
