everybody his opinion, i can just mention, what i would do...
we do engine's for a living.. we see short cut's or cost saving jobs everyday... and the results/greeve
i know the difference between "roadside" repairs (in the bush you have to get home at the end) (nothing wrong with that) and proper jobs when there is time... (proper does not mean "no limit", just 100% sure)
i just "hate" "half" jobs myself , when..... they can be avoided...
i read between the lines that you have access to a workshop, so why not..
do what you think is right for you.. Best regards
Harold

Thanks everyone,
Going to get going this weekend with it. I aim to use this one for a little while, so it has to be right. If I can get a year out of it I will be happy. If it goes bang again, I will be another one stripped and sold in a million bits.
Cheers all

If I was to do it again I'd get the cam covers off check the cam cap bolts, get the timing OK and do a compression test then go from there.
The passenger side head removal with the body on is the worst job I've ever done.
My engine has done its first 10 miles today after rebuilding. Wouldn't have done it with the help of the forum though!
