do you know what ....... i'm glad i do not like the new D4 it's going to save me a fortune not wanting the latest and greatest...
i do not like the RRS grill, the interior or the colour matched wheel arch trims and bumpers!!!
i will not buy one!
i have just come back from France where i filled my D3 with bags of sand, fence posts and mud... used it as a mobile workshop whilst a large field was fenced off in the pouring rain, drove it to the beach let my kids dribble ice cream on the seats.... it's covered in crap, inside and out and still looks OK, all the cubby holes are filled with "stuff i need" and the tom tom is more accurate and only cost £99.00!!
how could i buy such a luxury car like aD4 and treat it like ?
I've had a Disco 2 and a Disco 3 and these cars do everything i need... i've driven over 120k in my disco3 and i still love it to bits..... i'm afraid that the disco 4 is just too bling and the interior too RRS........ what i need is a "new" Defender based on the Disco 3 platform, not the leaky pile of poo they currently sell!.... RANT OVER.... i'm lovin it....

Pretty much in the same way that you bought a D3 a few years ago and now treat it as you described - for a true 'affordable' 4x4 the D3 was for most (and still is for me) sheer luxury, but we've all gotten used to it and it's become the 'norm' for us
At the moment we've only seen press shots of the fully-loaded HSE D4s - it'll be interesting to see how 'normal' the lower spec ones are.
Without wishing to drive you further over the edge, as much as I like my slab-faced, utillitarian D3 interior, the new D4 interior is stunning *

I am sure that if you look at the first press release photos of the D3, you might think you could never use that car to throw bags of sand and fence posts in etc.
But is amazing how quickly you can become accustomed to it and then start to use anything for what you need it to do.
I guess the real question is how well the smart interior takes it and if it can "scrub up well" when needed.
Only time will tell.
