Looks like im about to get my shirt lifted .. ( )
Suspected that I had a clutch problem over the last few weeks but i think now its on its way out.
started as a shudder when pulling away but last night on the way home in 3rd and 4th you
could hear the engine race and the rpm jump but the speed staying the same.
also got the orange park brake fault light up on the dash and no gear number in the LCD display.
She had here 100k (kilometer) service in July , so now out of warranty (107k on it now , 66.4 K miles)
It realy sucks that ireland went to Kilometers in 2006 , as before all cars were UK spec with miles
and then it was 100K miles warranty.
Question : would it realy be stupid to plead for a warranty claim at 107 ? ?
: My vin number might be in the range for the clutch problems on earlier D3's , but was this fail
only for clutch's that failed at lower milage 25-35k
: On a general issues are TSB's covered on cars that are out of warranty ?
: Any of the irish guys had a clutch done out of warranty ? how much did it cost ?
: Any one recommend an independent , or it this a job only to br done by a dealer ?
I have a big pot of vaseline on stand by.. how much do you think i'm going to need

if the vehicle is only just out of warranty and it's always been looked after by the dealer network, you might be able to get some of it paid for by LR if you have a sensible dealer that can broker it for you, although at that mileage they might not entertain it... and theeeeennn......???

just reading up on this a bit more , does it need a clutch , or a clutch and fly wheel , or is the "clutch kit " a pressure plate and fly wheel ?
Also , any views on a third party clutch , did i read recently in LRO that Britpart have a kit for the D3 ?

Dont britpart have a reputation as ??
Think a "clutch kit" is the clutch plate, the pressure plate and the release bearing. The flywheel is separate. 2014 D4 XS

you won't know if it'll need a flywheel until it's in bits, all depends on how hot it has got as to whether it has damaged the surface apparently.. and theeeeennn......???
