coffee cup extender - Danish Orchards jam container
If you desire higher coffee cup holders, the blue coloured 375 ml plastic jam containers that contain the
Danish Orchards brand jam are just the right diameter to fit the two LR3 coffee cup holders .
Danish Orchards have been selling jam in this same container for years here in Canada, so maybe it is the standard export container worldwide that they use in Denmark where the jam is packaged.
I also discovered that the container also fits the coffee cup holder of 2004/5 VW Passats and also 92 Buick Roadmasters. As such, I think there are many other vehicles the container fits.
The container is 3.75" high (95 mm), has a bottom outside diameter of about 3" (75 mm) and top OD of about 3.5" ( 85 mm). It also makes a good Blackberry holder as well.

I looked on their website and although they mention that the jars hold both blackcurrant and raspberry jams, I couldn't find anything about the jars holding blackberries.....maybe it is just a Canadian only product.
Would this affect my warranty? I wouldn't want to get in a sticky situation with my dealer.
I'm glad they also fit a 92 Buick Roadmasters - Phew.....I was worrying about that one

Wow, how cool if you could get a jar that had originally held Blackberry jam and still had a picture of Blackberries on it to hold your Blackberry! (Yes nurse I'll have me tablets now)

I was surprised and impressed by all the positive comments my Coffee cup extender "discovery" received.
To get the brand labels off the Danish Orchard container, WD40 and some scratching works well. For the record, it was Strawberry jam, and the contents were consumed prior to "installation".
Re the 92 Roadmaster, it now has 481,000 km on it and still runs well, and on regular gas - suffering a bit of rust behind the rear wheel wells and door sills, but that is about all, and the air suspension is still working. The radio is definitely not as good as in the LR3 however. The LR3 really does have what I would call a radio. I think the premium gas engine is required to power the dynamo to feed the "Cat" battery that the radio amplifiers apparently require.

One of my mobiles has a dodgy screen that sometimes stops working - I put it down to the vibrations it has received sitting in the cup-holder whilst off-road.
Seeing as the new D4 has a HDD with viscous mountings, I was thinking of applying this concept to keep my mobile phone in tip-top condition during extreme off-road conditions.
My idea was to use your Coffee cup extender, but not to take out the jam. I was going to stick the phone into the jam in the centre of the pot.
My question is what type of jam would be best for this? I think Danish Orchard is a reduced sugar jam (great for me as I'm diabetic), but I'm worried that the abundant use of fructose instead of sugar will reduce the viscosity of the jam enough to allow vibrations to affect the phone.
Am I worrying about nothing or do you think I can use any type of jam? Will this help to 'preserve' my phone?2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
