In Control Apps

If you use the Sygic navigation app on your phone connected with a USB cable via the In Control Apps, is there any way to get the voice instructions to play through the car sound system whilst still listening to music playing from the radio or USB stick, or does the Bluetooth have to be switched on the phone ?
