Cycled down this morning, and collected my car. New coolant bottle, no more low coolant messages. New rear wiper, very nice indeed. Vehicle fully enhanced, most of it was already done I am told, but had a compressor mod, suspension software updated, transmission software updated.

No more pre heat or pre cool in the instrument software, but I will live with this as it is more important to have a car that is up to date and functioning as intended by the designers.

Seems to drive smoother. There is definitly less shunt in the gearbox when driving slowly.

One last thing, thanks to a tip from 10forcash a while ago, I have a set of new chromed wheel bolts on order FOC. The early cars have black bolts that rust badly. As I have just had my 19" wheels powder coated, the nuts look awful, so they agreed to change them under warranty.

Your complaining? mine says 12mpg!!

I think it needs a few miles to settle down. To do the enhancement they have to put the car to 'deep sleep' which will reset all the computer averages.

How was your alloy wheel after its inverted experience?

Good news Gareth.

Did you find the D3 to be very bouncy before the update ?

Mine went in for its 45K (still no need to change the brake pads) and they were going to do the enhancement too. Ran out of time as it takes 3.9 hours on our early D3's !

You should see the list they have for all the D3's, RR, and RRS. All of various times depending on the age of the car (mechanically). The sw takes an hour to do and ties up their laptop for the whole period... thus delays all other WDS testing for other customer vehicles.

Anyway... I had a brand new TDV6 S for the day and it handled far tighter than mine. So... hardware (doubt it) or sw improvements ?

Simon, yes I was aware of it getting a bit 'loose' in the way it handled bumps. It does seem to be under tighter control now.

Another thing is the way that the vehicle changes height. It used to raise in a series of jerks, now it raises smoothly and quickly. The compressor does not run for as long either.

Yeah I noticed the smoother and faster suspension raising too. Mine seems to do a corner at a time nearly Wink

Thats exactly what mine has always done - is this a sign of a vehicle enhanced enough? Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
