At the weekend TFC kindly fitted replacement expansion tank, blanked off the EGR's and tested my FBH -
which appeared to be running fine.
Ever since, i have developed a coolant leak...
Visual inspection on sunday, i couldn't see where the leak was coming from, however still loosing coolant.
Appears to be dripping down from the bottom of the front nearside edge of the front bumper.
Can blanking off the EGR's cause a coolant leak ? Or could it be the FBH !! Possible faulty expansion tank ?
Car is booked into M J Fews on Thursday, for a look see, was wondering whether you guys have any ideas,
or have encountered similar problems... Also, an idea as to how much Fews will charge to take a look and rectify?
Thanks again
Andy (Kidz).

Hi Andy,
I have an untraceable coolant leak at the moment (although it hasnt been too bad for the last week or so) - it went into MJfew for them to have a look.
They tested the hoses, block, egr cooling etc but couldnt find a leak - but then they didnt charge me anything either.
have you spoken to TFC about it ? Duncan

Andy
Maybe you've got a coolant leak in the right bank EGR cooler.
If so there's a possibility that the coolant was entering the combustion chamber
and burning off as steam.
Then when the EGR's are blanked, the coolant has nowhere to go so drops as a leak.
Had exact same issue myself but after EGR cooler diagnosis, it was eventually traced to the oil cooler.
So that's another possibility. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Ronp, with your leak, did you actually see fluid dripping from underneath...
TFC is yet to respond, have sent him an email, no reply as yet...
All happening just before x-mas, not what the doctor ordered...
Hope i can get this sorted asap..

Just spoken to TFC.
Hopefully the replacement collant tank is faulty round the sensor in the bottom, TFC has seen
this fault before ...
Lets hope M J Fews sort this out to no extra expense to myself ...
Will keep you posted, following visit on Thursday.
TFC doesn't think the EGR blanking off or the FBH is to blame...

Used up a lot of coolant but there was no sign of any leak.
But after getting the EGR's blanked it then went to a fluid drip.
But as TFC says, get the container checked first. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.
